Think about something that comes natural for you.
For me, it’s fashion.
Styling outfits.
Creativity.
It’s crazy I think back to that time when I was a child and got asked that same question in Elementary that everyone has heard before,
”What do you want to be when you grow up?”
98% of students would respond the typical,
A teacher
A firefighter
A nurse/doctor
A police officer
But you know it’s always that 2% that may respond with something off the wall. Can you guess which percentage I was in?
I’ll give you a hint, At one point of time I did want to be a fashion designer. 😉 can you guess when that time was? You guessed it!
I wanted to be a ‘designer’ up to Fall 2020 of my Junior Year in Undergrad. HOWEVER at that point, for the past 14 years deep down inside I knew something was off….
Like yeah I want to do SOMETHING in fashion but I knew I didn't want to be behind a sewing machine all day either. (Shoutout to my parents, grandma, and art teacher in middle school that believed in me so bad that they bought me the most expensive sewing machine and taught me how to sow🥹🫶🏽)
Now granted, do I want to one day (🤭) drop some bomb pieces? OF COURSEE. But be an actual designer ? Nah
Maybe that trait can be passed down to my kids or something but I know I didn't want to do it.
All I knew was that I wanted to model outfits that I personally styled, Help people learn about the most up to date trends, and sell pieces that I put together that I didn't have to sow together myself (I always used to say I wanted to be the next Fashion Nova). All while looking good and getting PAID.
But it wasn’t until May 2020 when the world was fresh on COVID 19 lockdown, that I finally figured it out what it was that I wanted to do!
- Be a Fashion content creator
- Connect with Fashion Manufacturers and Suppliers to bring my personal clothing designs to life !
It was like a gift from God like YESSSS!!
For years I didn’t understand the strategy to how the individuals that inspired me over the years did it.

And I know what you’re thinking. “Malaysia, its easy to see what & how they were doing it.”
But my thinking was this: “What are the proper steps that will lead to success?”
Or in other words
‘How are they living (luxurious at that) from just creating content?’
‘How are these brands making just as much (if not more) as high-dollar brands and selling items that somebody else put together for them but they’re getting the profit from it?’
Because not to be rude but anybody can make a YouTube video or take a picture. Just as well as anybody can start a clothing business.
I just wanted to do whatever it was they were doing.
Now I’ll be honest did I immediately start ? No. But, you know how they say you know you’re meant to do something when it comes natural & even slightly easy? (I mean lets be real nothing good comes easy but you get it)
For starters, I remember in 2020 when two brands reached out to me to create content for their products that they sent me. (one graphic shirt; another a swimsuit)
Did I make the content ? No sadly I didn’t. But you wanna know something crazy? There was actually a time in my life where I “barely” posted on social media.
Yeah I was one of the ones that used to ‘pop out’ once or twice a year and when they posted everybody would be like “OMG it’s her!”. So it felt weird for me to now , out of nowhere, having to post but I knew eventually I wanted to do it.
Let’s just say I was a little shy about it lol.
And I dont know about yall but I utilized the pandemic to the T.
I was so locked in it was crazy.
Not only did I discover more about content creation and how creators started beyond just filming, but I also discovered the manufacturing process in starting a clothing business.
Everyday before work and sometimes even after work (yes your girl was making that $$$ during the shutdown) I was dedicating my time to watching YouTube’s (shoutout to @Glamzontay & @thefindguru), creating a solid logo, setting up the process to get my business registered, attending webinars, and so on.
H*** I even made a contract.
And what’s so funny is so many things have changed since then.
But even through all the changes….
Im still driven to it.
It’s truly a God given gift.
It amazes me of the many outfits i’ve planned in my head while just sitting on my bed. (I just wish i could always locate the pieces I fantasize about lol)
It amazes me how I find pure joy in helping others locate affordable trendy pieces
It amazes me how natural it comes to talk about business in the fashion industry. (Now granted I did get my Masters In Business but this started wayyyy before I even knew what college I was going to go to).
With that being said I have so much in store for not just myself but you guys ! 🩷
I’m so excited with what God has in store through this journey.
Im not going to say too much bout if you been here for a while yall should know the drill.
An if your new, Welcome !
But either way……………………..
Stay Tuned.
xoxo,
Malaysia
